Do you ever wonder where all the floats go from the Mardi Gras Parades? My husband and I found out when we visited Mardi Gras World located across the Mississippi river from the French Quarter in New Orleans. It's a really cool place to visit as you get to see all the floats and props for the upcoming year in the works. Kern Studios, started by Blain Kern in 1947 is the man behind the magic earning him the title "Mr. Mardi Gras". The studio reuses the floats year after year renovating them with the latest characters or patching up the old time favorites. You can see all this firsthand at the Prop Shop where artists are hard at work in various stages of float making.
